Keep Front Royal Blooming

The charm of downtown Front Royal is enhanced each year by the iconic hanging baskets along Main and Chester Streets.

These beautiful baskets and planters have become a symbol of civic pride and play an essential role in welcoming visitors to our historic town. The hanging baskets are more than just decoration—beautification projects like these significantly enhance the tourism experience by encouraging foot traffic, longer visits, and increased spending at local businesses.

History

In 2024, the Beautification of Front Royal Committee began a sponsorship program to help defray the costs of the self-watering baskets. Sponsorship signs were affixed below the baskets; however, as the flowers grew, the signs were gradually obscured from view.

In 2025, when the project was undertaken by the Front Royal/Warren County Tree Stewards, new signs were created and placed at the top of the baskets. Unfortunately, these too were quickly covered by the upward growth of the flowers. Clearly, neither of these signage options will work going forward.

Looking Ahead in 2026

The Front Royal/Warren County Tree Stewards would like to continue offering this sponsorship opportunity to local businesses and families who understand the impact these baskets have on our town’s appeal.

For 2026, sponsorship recognition will include:

  • A printed sign acknowledging you as a 2026 sponsor for display at your business or in your window
  • Recognition through a press release to the Royal Examiner
  • A listing of sponsors displayed in the Gazebo Kiosk

Behind the Blooms

The ongoing care of the baskets, from planting to watering and maintenance, requires time, energy, and funding. The flowers cost approximately $3,500–$4,000 each year. A $100 basket contribution goes a long way toward covering the costs of flowers, baskets, soil, signage, and supplies.

We are all grateful to the Front Royal Streets & Horticulture Department. Their team spends many hours each summer carrying out this beautification effort that is so beloved by the community.

How to Participate

Below is the Participation Form for the 2026 baskets.

Let’s keep Front Royal blooming for residents and visitors alike. Together, we can ensure our town continues to shine as a vibrant, welcoming destination for all.
